Foveaux Cod Catcher was the product of a backyard entrepreneur, passionate fisherman and very good friend Ross Tonkin.

Since taking over Foveaux Cod Catcher in 2012, I've taken on the challenge of producing top-notch & innovative recreational fishing products. These products continue to be handmade here in Southland, the home of the Blue Cod.

Growing up fishing the challenging waters around Foveaux Strait, I know what it takes to land cod and groper in tough conditions. With the help of experienced local fishermen, we've trialed and tested various rig setups—from the depths off Stewart Island to the rocky outcrops closer to shore.

After creating a number of top functioning rigs, we were able to narrow it down to those that meet our high standards: quality build, maximum lure and minimum tangles. We're extremely happy with the outcomes and so were our experienced fishermen who continue to reel them in.
